About
I was raised in a proudly working-class family, where union wages allowed us to thrive. I have been blessed with so many opportunities. I have learned from great leaders and had the privilege to hold authority and trust, both as an Army officer and as an attorney, representing unions and working people. I feel a duty and obligation to ensure that future generations in St. Joseph can thrive, just like I could.
In Afghanistan, I served as a Squadron Assistant Intelligence Officer, analyzing threats and advising leaders on how to keep Soldiers safe and accomplish the mission. After serving in the Army, I had the privilege of attending law school through the G.I. Bill. I saw first hand the uphill battle working people face compared to professional elites and the way that powerful interests shape law and policy to their advantage. I decided then I had to focus my work and advocacy on protecting and advancing the communities and people that shaped me into who I am today.
